Kai Piippo, Head of Design at Light Bureau, is a Stockholm based award winning lighting designer.

He has extensive experience of lighting design and his vision is to create safe and beautiful cities. His exceptional talent to create strong lighting design together with his ability to understand stakeholders needs, ensures that joint visions are realised.

Kai received the Swedish Lighting Award in 2008, 2012, 2013 and 2015 for the lighting design at the KFem shopping centre, “In the tracks of giants,” Sweden’s Royal Library Annex and the office of game developer King.

Well renowned for his knowledge and cutting-edge lighting design, he receives frequent international speaking engagements about Nordic light and lighting. Kai Piippo was the founder of the internationally recognised lighting design company Ljusarkitektur, which merged with Light Bureau (former ÅF Lighting) in 2013. Light Bureau is an international lighting design practice with more than 100 dedicated lighting specialists and lighting assignments all over the world.
