The artwork ‘Divina Proportione Louise’ is inspired by the “De Divina Proportione”, the famous proportions illustrated by Leonardo Da Vinci, with Louise Glück’s drawn profile as the center of the work.
The light designer is inspired by the Nobel Prize in Literature 2020 that was awarded to the poet Louise Glück “for her unmistakable poetic voice that with austere beauty makes individual existence universal”.
The artist is inspired by the complexity of her poetry and translates it and her silhouette into light. The sculpture is hand crafted in steel and uses the latest technology in pixelLED and dmx controlling. The lighting system’s box is made from repurposed acrylic and old museum materials to minimize the amount of waste.

Philip Nilsson is currently studying light design at Jönköpping University’s School of Engineering. He has worked with a range of companies and lighting designers to create light sculptures as well as custom made light fixtures and solutions. His biggest inspirations in shape, material, color, and light are the Space Age-era and fast-beat music.

The artist extends his thanks to KUCKO, Control Department, Rebel Light, and Carl Anders Andersson – CA Smide
