NOBEL WEEK LIGHTS 2021
Open Call
A 2021 edition of Nobel Week Lights Stockholm is being conceived in cooperation with Nobel Prize Museum and Stockholms Stad. The process of fundraising for an annual light festival is currently underway. Nobel Week Lights is based on a series of important partnerships: multi-party projects are warmly welcome.
The open call is organized in three steps:
- Submission of a preliminary concept and project : Deadline April 20th
- If the project is preselected, a development and feasibility study will be made including a sketch fee. (Working period May-June 2021)
- If project is selected: the concept will be included and produced for Nobel Week Lights 2021
Content Critera
The concept content should be clearly connected to or inspired by the Nobel Prizes. The light installation/art work should be adapted to an outdoor public art event, be dynamic and/or interactive and be able to take place in the Stockholm winter.
Please provide a short description and motivation of the artwork/installation and its connection to the Nobel Prizes. If your installation is site specific, please describe and motivate the location in connection to the Nobel Prizes. Include a 2-page maximum sketch in PDF format of a visual reference/inspiration that briefly illustrates your concept for the artwork/installation.
Sites: Hosting Institutions / Sites / Buildings
The focus for the Nobel Week Lights is the downtown city center of Stockholm. Geographical sites and locations will preferably be connected to Nobel and the distances between should be walkable. We are open to collaboration with potential sites in the downtown core.
There will also be a constellation of sites outside of the center with priorities to be defined at a later date.
Nobel Week Lights is based on a series of important collaborations and would not be possible without the support of private and public partnerships. We look forward to working with you and hearing your ideas for 2021 and beyond.
